3. ENDOCRINE SYSTEM

The endocrine system is responsible for secreting hormones that help balance all body functions. Normal endocrine function depends upon the heart and central nervous system (which includes the brain and spinal cord). Therefore, the integrity of the heart and central nervous system are vital to the proper functioning of the endocrine system.

The level of functioning of these structures is a key indicator of how the rest of the body is working. When the heart and central nervous system are functioning normally, they are able to properly regulate the endocrine (or glandular) system. Therefore, when the endocrine system is functioning normally, the heart, brain and central nervous system will function properly also.

WHAT CAUSES THE HEART AND CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM TO MALFUNCTION?

Blood flows through the heart and brain carrying excess toxins and waste products from the cells in our other organs. Many of these circulating toxins can be absorbed by the cells of the heart and brain which weakens them, making it harder to perform their regular functions. In addition, build-ups of calcium and cholesterol can collect in the arteries and veins causing blockages or clots constricting the flow of blood.

HOW CAN WE MAINTAIN PROPER FUNCTION OF THE HEART AND CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM?

The cleaning and strengthening of the cells of the heart and brain, as well as clearing out excess calcium and cholesterol from the circulatory system will enable these life organs to perform for us with less effort and stress. Therefore, as we strengthen the heart and central nervous system, we will in turn allow for proper functioning of the endocrine system.

Through the previous steps, the entire chemistry of the inside of your body has been altered and will continue to adjust for some time. As the cells begin to release toxins into the blood stream, they begin to rebuild from the inside and the metabolism of the cells increases. As cellular metabolism speeds up, waste from cells increases in the blood stream circulating throughout the body.

Special strengthening nutrients are beneficial for the heart and brain at this time to help these vital organs deal with the increased flow of blood. These specific nutrients are found in Dr. Hanna's Nutritional Program through Step 3.
